B,

Here are three critters shot with three different 7mm chamberings, using the 140 gr. Nosler Accubond. The range for the antelope was 200 yds +/-. The Hoglet @ +/- 120 yds, The Sika stag @ +/- 170 yds IIRC.

7MM-08, 140 Gr. Accubond

All three were 1 shot kills, no tracking.

The major differing factor would seem to be the muzzle velocity and the velocity at POI.

So can you explain to me how the 7mm-08 "Crushes" the other two 7mm chamberings?

Quien Sabe?

I will tell you one thing that Stick did not lie about, and that is a 7/08 and 180g Hornady eld-M's, you would have to see it to believe it.

26" barrel is getting 2640 with some amazing accuracy with H4350, R#17 is next and will get another 100 fps.

I am running lapua brass.

Yeah well, I was blessed with a big cock so I don't much care what the rest of you need to do to feel good about yourselves.. To me a house is just a place to keep me and my stuff out of the weather.

Ive owned a number of Kimbers

[Linked Image from i38.photobucket.com]

my favorite being the Montanas, Top to Bottom, 325 WSM, 308 Win, 260 Rem

[Linked Image from i38.photobucket.com]

Of those, my fav' was the 325 WSM. At that time I was loading the 180 gr. Ballistic Tip.

It thumped a skosh harder than the others!

I have killed a number of deer and antelope with both the 7mmRM and the 280AI.

I don't think the ruminants know which one is killing them.

I can hardly tell the difference.

Funny how that works.

I or even my .243 think my Roberts would have killed most everything I've shot, but mostly I prefer bigger.

If I didn't reload it would be a 7MM RM but since I do I own it and a 280AI, a 7-08 and a 7x57. All four shoot very nicely and will do for a big variety of game. The 7MM RM is the heaviest of the four 7MM rifles I own but still not too heavy for practicality. If Stick knew what he is talking about he would consider the 160 gr. Partition out of any of them a fine game bullet.

Stick is the kind of guy that if he has a Ford truck then anybody who drives a Chevy is an idiot. But then if he goes and buys a Chevy the next year then everybody driving a Ford has sand for brains. You know the type.

She’s a beauty!
Nice job bud.

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.
