It's windy, and Icey in this part of Iowa, cold enough till something worse comes along.

We were going to town, I have the rest of this month to renew my driver's license. I'd best shave for the mug shot.

enjoying a cup of hotel coffee. On my way to Southern Georgia to shoot quail on a plantation. A bucket list item that will be checked off this week.

Do they have wild birds or pen raised? Shooting pen raised birds is boring if you have ever hunted wild ones. I hope you will be hunting wild birds.

I woke up at 5 to the sound of wind driven frozen rain on the metal porch roof. It was really loud. I'll bet the road is greasy right now but I don't have to go anywhere this morning. It'll melt off by late morning.

Been up an hour. Finished my second cup and looking forward to eggs and bacon in just a bit. Forecast is for mid 30s and snow. Wife has her mahjong day today, so I'll be a Class B bachelor - probably eat some forbidden stuff and work on the stuck wheel on my snow blower, then tinker with fishing stuff some more.

I hear you. I grew up shooting wild birds and have no interest in pen raised birds. These are wild birds, I believe.

I get the coffee pot set up the night before..... Then all I have to do is plug in the coffee maker and turn it on when I get up.

That’s great, shooting pen raised birds is like kissing your sister. We used to find a few coveys of birds in the piney woods of east Texas, but hunted in central and south Texas mostly. 20 coveys a day wasn’t unusual.

Top O' the morn to you Wabi. I moved out to the living room around 4:30 a.m. The cat pinned me down to the chair, so I just gave up and went back to sleep. Got up around 6 and got Cathy's breakfast going-she's leaving for work in a few minutes here. We've got snow coming today, and a big batch on Friday-about 6 inches. Gonna run for groceries today, do some work around the house, and pick up gas for the snow blower. My old Craftsman's been holding up pretty good. Think I'll be buying a new blower for next winter though.

Had a bad night last night. Had something like a crick in the neck hit me, worst I've ever had. Couldn't sleep, spent half the night on the heat pad. Still bothering me this morning, guess if it doesn't get better, I'll have to go get checked out at doctor.

Going to get some coffee and some food down, and see if I don't feel better. But, this doesn't feel quite right.
