Finally got one in my hands. I have not fired it yet, but since I could not find any information on it (it's not listed on Kimber's website), I thought I'd share some thoughts and pics in case someone here was interested. KY Gun still had them listed and in stock as of yesterday. First impression: The glossy cerakote (I think) finish on the aluminum frame. I don't mind it, but I'm wondering how it will hold up to use in the field - scratches, etc. Fit and finish is very good. Ramped barrel has no play in the slide. Slide has very little play with frame. Trigger pull not too bad, but not as good as my mid-80's Kimber, and definitely not as crisp. Sights are good for me - white dot rear and fiber optic front with some spare rods in the case. All controls same as the Kimber Classic. Grips were good, but I replaced them with some Ahrends checkered I had in a parts box. Another positive is that this pistol does not have the Schwartz safety. It's a true series 70 gun. I have not disassembled the bottom half yet, but plan to do that in the next few days. Now the negatives, besides the glossy frame. The MIM parts include slide release, thumb safety, grip safety (no big deal), hammer, EJECTOR!, and I'm sure at least the disconnector and mag release as far as parts that I can't see yet. The mainspring housing is the typical Kimber composite housing. I've fired quite a few rounds in my old Kimber Classic over the years, and have not had any problems with the plastic housing. The only other negative for me is the full-length guide rod, just because I hate them. I have a GI plug and guide on order from Brownells and will replace it when that comes in. It only came with one 9-rd mag, but I have plenty of 10-rd mags. Overall worth $539.

I really enjoy my 1911 9mm.
With the long sight radius and the soft recoil, it's really fun at the range. Enjoy yours!

We may know the time Ben Carson lied, but does anyone know the time Hillary Clinton told the truth?

Even assuming you need to replace some of the MIM parts (and likely the only one that will need replacing is the extractor) $539 is a heck of a deal for a 9mm 1911. Looking forward to range reports. You might also get a few Wilson Combat magazines; when I had feeding trouble with my Kimber Custom II Stainless Target 9mm, Wilson magazines solved it.

Wish they had some 45's....I'd buy one of those, too. The extractor is good. The ejector (pinned to frame) is MIM. Not sure why they used a MIM part there (I know it was cost - but they shouldn't skimp there). I've got a bunch of 9mm mags to try - Wilson, McCormick, Tripp. The mags I'm most impressed with are the Brownells brand mags. Look them up. They were perfect with my SA Pro 9mm.

P.S. - I do not work for or represent KY Gun. I've bought several new firearms from them and they are good to go with the text check payment (no fee).

You may take joy and great happiness that you have been illuminated in an illuminated way by choosing the Magnificent Mystical 9MM. Go forth and spread your enlightenment far and wide as you bask in the knowledge that has been inflicted upon you by the illuminated ones.

Fair price if you wanted a Kimber. They just ran a sale on these in Nov.
You'd be a fool to replace MIM, but it is your money. Shoot it. The AL frame makes carrying nice.

I'm seriously looking at one to drop a .38 Super barrel into...have a multi-caliber Stainless Target II and could probably drop the barrel in there with little or no fitting...

Biden's most truthful quote ever came during his first press conference, 03/25/21. Drum roll please...... "I don't know, to be clear." and THAT is one promise he's kept!!!
