Oh, gosh, Dandy Don. My Dad was an instructor pilot at Perrin when the Missile Crisis happened, he stayed a Cowboys fan until Kaepernitwit ruined NFL for him. But yeah, Landry, Staubach, Walt Garrison.
Up hills slow, Down hills fast Tonnage first and Safety last.
I remember the Oilers playing Oakland on MNF in the old Astrodome. They were terrible that year and getting blown out by the Raiders. It was the 4th quarter and most of the crowd was gone. The camera zoomed in on one fan sitting by himself who shot the bird. Without missing a beat Merideth said “there’s an Oiler fan saying they’re no. 1”.
Once on a central Texas deer hunt long after Walt Garrison and Darrell Royal of UT coaching fame retired, a group of guys were in the camp house one night when Walt asked Darrell why he hadnt recruited him from high school as he always wanted to play for UT. Walt had played as a top recruit for SMU, iirc.
Darrell said, "Well Walt, back in high school you werent worth a crap."

Ecc 10:2 The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but that of a fool to the left.
A Nation which leaves God behind is soon left behind.
"The Lord never asked anyone to be a tax collector, lowyer, or Redskins fan".
It is interesting to note that the first name considered for the team was "Steers", which would have made for all sorts of opportunities for snide comments during their early unsuccessful years.
Not a real member - just an ordinary guy who appreciates being able to hang around and say something once in awhile.
Happily Trapped In the Past (Thanks, Joe)
Not only a less than minimally educated person, but stupid and out of touch as well.
