civil disobedience is a method purportedly used to open the eyes of some to the problem at hand.
The folks that don't realize there is a serious issue will know after being "inconvenienced" that a certain segment of society believes they need to be taken notice of.
Seems to have worked some in the 50's, 60's, and 70's.

pretty much the general sentiment around here is we cheer for the people that crack heads for those that cause civil disobedience, peaceful or otherwise.
not sure how that translates to being a good idea if causes we support start doing it.
the best cause is one where people are in fear of whatever is happening to you can happen to them.
making someone late to work or getting home to their family? that won't be winning hearts and minds.
