Just picked up a svelte little Mauser in 757 which has a Douglas #1 on it. Brownells had a sale on the NECG banded front ramps going (for about half price) and, of course, once I get the rifle in hand the sale ends.

Normally, I love the banded front sight look and most of my rifles have them but this thing is .570 at the muzzle and I’m wondering if the band will look too bulky. Don’t want to drop $100 to grab one and find out I don’t like the look and then see if they’ll let me return it. Debating putting on a streamlined front ramp, a la, Model 70 but am hoping maybe someone has a pic of a skinny barrel (sub .600) with a banded front I can peruse.

TIA

P.S. It won’t have a scope to help hide/ balance the front sight. Peep rear and blade front.

A Ruger No. 1A has a pretty skinny barrel and banded front sight - would googling up a picture of that work for you?

FWIW Numrich/Gun Parts Corp has this 0.580" I.D. banded front sight for $12.50 and this 0.560" I.D. one for $`9.50. Compared to the price of what I expect NECG charges (even on sale), perhaps you might want to buy one from Numrich just to see if you like the look before taking the NECG plunge.
