Let's say you had to scope a new hunting rifle and you didn't have any orphan scopes laying around (for some, that may be hard to imagine but try) You have $300 to spend. What would you choose to give you the most bang for your buck? This would need to be current production, in stock.

Doug, Was I correct in seeing a banner on the page about a deal you had going on GPO scopes? Was it at $300, or not quite that low? It looked intriguing, anyway. FC

How does that GPO 3-9x40 compare to the old Conquest, or the current Meopro?

I would also look at the Burris Fullfield E1 scopes that Doug has. I have 2 of them now, and one was just bought in December.
I hunted this fall with the first one, and I liked it so much that when Doug had them on sale, I had to buy another. Fast shipping too.

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I'd just call Doug and explain what I'm looking for. There's a lot of good answers. I like fixed 4's so for under $300 with a regular plex and a matte finish...probably limited to the Hawke now(Weaver Classic has been discontinued I believe). If I was looking to buy a variable, I could easily go with a Redfield, Leupold, Burrris or even a Vortex(Vortex has helped out MY paycheck a few times in the last few years, and I don't own ANY of their products). Lot of options out there right now.

Another vote for the Burris FF-II 3-9X40
Most people don't really want the truth.
They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is the truth.

I think another Burris FFII would do nicely too. Great value for money.
