I know model 70's and 71's were being introduced around the same time, and some parts like supergrade and deluxe swivels are the same.
Does anyone know if a model 70 pre 64 front sight hood is the same as used on model 71 deluxe guns? I need one for a model 71 and all i can find is model 70.

Don't believe the sight hoods were model specific.

The same.
Winchester catalogued your gun as the Model 71 Special.

Just make sure both ends of the hood have the same taper.
