I picked up a set of holly grips for a Bisley from Lone Star Custom Grips. Zane had a sale just before Christmas. I got home from the slope Thursday night and picked up my hold mail Friday. The grips and Taffin's latest book were in the held mail. These are my first grips from Zane and won't be my last. He does great work. I tried the grips on my stainless Bisley 480 and they looked good. They looked better on my blued 500 Linebaugh. Then I tried them on my color case hardened Lipsey's 45 Colt. I think this is where they belong. I really like the holly against the CCH frame.
Chronographs, bore scopes and pattern boards have broke a lot of hearts.

Very nice!
I think they look great against that blue and case-colored!

They look pretty sharp against the stainless also. Nice gun pacecars.

Of all things, giraffe stocks on my 45LC case colored Bisley. I bought it used, and I really like it. Never knew giraffes made good stocks.

A friend does scrimshaw for a living, and likes the giraffe bone pretty well, but the Greens have been futzing around with the taxonomy divisions in an attempt to take them out of the hunting (and bone supply) pool, so last I heard that material may soon be tough to find. Been a while since we spoke so I don't know if the situation is better or worse now.

Marty, I dig those Holly grips. The Giraffe bone are gorgeous as well. I have wanted some scrimshawed grips for my Bisley for ages but haven't pulled the trigger on that yet.

Some fine looking grips on some fine looking guns.
If we live long enough, we all have regrets. But the ones that nag at us the most are the ones in which we know we had a choice.
