The package recommends 35lbs of tourqe on the ring screws. I’m mounting a Trigicon accu point. That’s seems very tight. I sure don’t won’t to damage my tube.Does 35 lbs seem excessive??

"Our mounts are machined so true and straight it takes more torque to hold a scope in place. 25 inch pounds on ring screws for a cheap $60.00 scope. 30 to 35 inch pounds on a good quality scope. You will not hurt the threads in our mounts since we use such long ring screws. The screws can handle about 70 inch pounds. After about 70 the hardened steel screws start to break."

I use the old directions. The directions used to state use the provided wrench (key) and hold down into the screw with one hand (I used my index finger) and tighten with the other hand until the wrench (key) begins to flex. I paraphrased the instructions.
