Well I finally got my TC Compass 300wm set up. I put a Leupold Vx2 on it. I mounted it in Burris Signsture Zee rings medium. Found out in these rings they dont make anything lower than mediums. I installed a muzzle brake and a limbsaver recoil pad. I also done a trigger job in it which amounted to changing out a trigger spring and putting little great grease on sear.

Took rifle to range yesterday with my cleaning kit and some factory ammo and reloads. I did the barrell break in procedure on it while sighting in scope. I had it sighted in pretty close at 50 yards where I was shooting with intentions to fully sight it in precisely when I moved it to 100 yards. My last 3 shots with factory ammo shot into a little under an inch group st the 50 yard line. I took the target on down range to 100 yards. I then pulled out some reloads. These loads worked good in my sons TC Compass and s Rem rifle I had. I shot first 2 shots right together about 1.5 inches high. I had one more shot to complete my 3 shot group. It would also be last shot for the day. I was anticipating and wanting it to hit with the other 2 but was afraid it would kick out a flyer. In my mind if this 3rd shot shoots to where first 2 were I would be very happy man. My eye sight as I've gotten older ain't what it used to be as further distance comes into play. I shot the 3rd shot and confirmed that it did indeed hit with the first 2 shots. A very satisfying day at the range and able to leave knowing my first outing with this rifle was showing it to be accurate. This is my second TC Rifle as I also have a Venture that is very accurate also. This Compass is at least as ac urate as the Venture. At this time I al sold on Thompson Center rifles. The next one i get may be horrible but so far so good. Here is a picture of that last 3 shot group.

T/C has figured out how to make pretty accurate rifles very inexpensively with the Compass.

My .308 Compass was bought on a whim. I replaced the trigger spring with a lighter version, very lightly polished then greased the trigger surfaces and painted the stock.

It shoots my handloads nicely.
