That's neither here nor there. The biggest problem I have is how hurtful that has to sound to their daughters who are 2 of the best charactered young ladies I know.

Of course, that means the vast majority of those cases end that way?

jag,

You should take a moment and realize that you wouldn't speak to people like this in real life.

So why do you do it on the internet?

Jag is a trailer park mouth breather trapped in a highly accomplished Ophthamologist’s body.

It isn’t just a job, it’s an adventure.

Adventure?

With a teacher's pension...

Ok, sure.

So obviously bicycles have proven to be a way for a broke man to do.... something..... either for adventure or to run away from one’s problems by replacing ‘em with a simpler set of problems of the sort guys are better wired to handle. Like getting from Point A to Point B without getting run over or succumbing to heatstroke.

The coolest takeaways I have so far are taking the wrong ferry to France and ending up 250 miles from where I wanted to be (I was riding the solution 🙂 ), the other was riding a bicycle across West Texas last summer to the NM State Line, and then deciding to turn right and get to Montana by going up the Great Plains instead grin

On the other end of the spectrum an old motorcycle buddy of means recently flew him and his son to New Zealand and got helicoptered in to some remote mountain peaks where IIRC they hunted Himalayan taur or some such. Waaaaay out of my league.

Sadly that same guy seems to have also recently discovered that recreational drugs are the biggest thrill of all so I guess it’s all relative.

ADD back at ya, what’s your idea of an adventure?

For most of the guys here, adventure is searching for the bathroom in their mother's basement.

I disagree, some guys here are either mid way through life; working and raising a family, or towards the end of life; retired, kids raised and gone, a whole lifetime of stuff to look back on.

The few Leftists on here seem closer to your description.

This^^^.

I think la Roy lives pretty stoned, as did Jell0, dreaming of a successful coup and then a short step of progress to Utopia.
