Cheap, heavy and I'm sure accurate enough for subsonic use. Did I say cheap?

Berrys went of business in May 2019. A few outlets still have inventory on hand.

perfect has been around for some amount of time. 194 Lehigh. Hands down as far as I'm concerned.

If I want to shoot the real heavies 208 amax and 240 SMK. Buy a box of 500 of the 240s you'll be in business a while.

If I wanted to shoot em tons, I'd cast or buy cast.

In the meantime the lehighs cut such a big hole and kill so well they are affordable enough easily.

I’ll take my AR 76239 with some 154s.
That’s one round that will Always be around

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

All of them - Too damned expensive.

That would be an option, especially if you don't mind cleaning your silencer and fooling with molten lead.

For a jacketed bullet doing what the 300BO does best (plinking lots of big, subsonic bullets through a silencer at nothing worth much), tough to beat these Berry's. Probably kills just as well as the SMKs and AMAXs at those speeds.

I think Rost likes sniping sounders of pigs at night with them. I can see how subsonic silenced would be advantageous under those conditions. But for most everyone else, it's just a big, fun .22.

You can coat lead these days.. I don't think I"ve bought plain lead cast in a long time now. I suspect they might be safe for suppressors.

Granted if I was shooting hundreds of rounds of this Lehigh would be a bit high. But its a specialty gun. Use it for deer and pigs. Might shoot 50 or 75 rounds a year.

And yes its like the X39 really. Only I couldn't buy a bolt X39 factory with threads when I bought the blackout.

Check out casting and coating. Or buying coated but I'd check with the can maker first to be sure. Like my TBeast, you can't take it apart to clean. Its sealed Ti.

I have read that 168 SMKs kill really well from subs suppressed.. I"ve never tried to shoot game withough a Lehigh though. FWIW. The 208 and 240s look like you could polish em a bit and reload and shoot again...

Cast and the BO work fine, dunno why so many overthink it so much. A sealed can, or one rated for muscleman cartridges is not necessary or the best choice. Powder coat if you want or a bit of ALOX will work.

Might add that cast is a helluva lot cheaper than any jacketed or plated bullet. Aside from that subs work very well on game when properly placed.
