I put one on a vx-1 some years back. Thought it would be good on a walk about short range use 30-30. Was...okay I guess but I just love the #4 so much better.

I have German #4’s on a number of scopes. One of them is a VX-3 1.75-6x32 that I had the Leupold Custom Shop install. I’ve never looked through a scope with a #1 but think I would like it. If I ever get a DG rifle and then actually hunt DG I’ll look into getting a scope with a #1.
Don't roll those bloodshot eyes at me.

I have several scopes with German #1 reticles and like them a lot. But I hunt a lot like the Germans tend to do, at low light, in the forest, and sometimes shoot at moving game. Works great for me.
