Former national security advisor John Bolton's team was under fire from conservative commentators Sunday night, after a report in The New York Times revealed a bombshell excerpt from Bolton's forthcoming book that could prove pivotal in President Trump's impeachment trial -- just as the Amazon product page for the book went live.

The drama began earlier Sunday when the Times exclusively reported that Bolton's manuscript included a claim that Trump explicitly linked a hold on Ukraine aid to an investigation of Joe and Hunter Biden. Trump told Bolton in August, according to a transcript of Bolton's forthcoming book reviewed by the Times, "that he wanted to continue freezing $391 million in security assistance to Ukraine until officials there helped with investigations into Democrats including the Bidens."

Bolton attorney Charles J. Cooper .....saying in a statement that the pre-publication review process had been “corrupted and that information has been disclosed by persons other than those properly involved in reviewing the manuscript.”

Agreed. Trump's mistake was in thinking that even if Ukraine had handed over dirt on the Biden's, and I'm sure there was dirt, that something would be done about it. Being a crook is a requirement if you want to have presidential aspirations as a Democrat, so it wasn't going to affect Biden at all.

Those of us who believe in right and wrong have no idea how crooked the world of politics is, and both sides are just as guilty as the other. That's why it's just a joke for the Democrats to be acting all high and mighty about wanting to impeach Trump over something that they have done for years.

I don’t trust any man whose view of diplomacy is deeply rooted in military power and war. Therefore, I don’t trust Bolton. He has been a major influencer in Washington for far too long. My suspicions of the man would be that he likes the power of influence that he has cultivated and would fight to maintain that status after his firing.

At this point the American people need to realize that too many people have rummaged through the circumstances surrounding Ukraine. There is no good way to know what really happened at this point in time. Finding the truth at this point would be like trying to track a deer across a field after a heard of cattle were put out to graze.

If Trump did wrong or close to wrong he will be cautious now. At best this is a cast for a strong reprimand.
