Anyone have one? Any downside to a monolithic upper? Picked one up for a steal today. I've had a pile of 6920's but never a 6940.

I had one and it shot well, the barrel is free floated so I assume that helps its accuracy somewhat. I gave it to my son who is in law enforcement since his department did not have enough money at the time to outfit all of their officers but would allow them to qualify with their own weapon for official use.
The downside is not being able to change the forend to allow configuration options.

I had one, did not shoot as well or any better than any others I had, and not as good as my S&W MP 15T.
FWIW, the ONLY AR I've had that shot better than the MP was a RR., that includes a number of Colts, Bushmasters, DPMS, Remington etc etc etc.
RR was a tack driver but a heavy SOB.
Smith MP (not a sport, a real MP 15T, free float/8" twist) overall the best shooter and reliable for the money. Years as a LEO duty rifle in my patrol vehicle and LR shooter training.

It was one of those things I had to have and demand was high. Being a gun nut is not always smart financially.

You robustly qualify as the neighbor that DOES have an AR.
Slaves get what they need. Free men get what they want. Rehabilitation is way overrated. Orwell wasn't wrong. GOA member disappointed NRA member 24HCF SEARCH

A quick search of online retailers’ asking price points toward that being a good price. Plus they were out of stock.

Great price but I don't like quad-rail ARs so it would be pretty low on my list......
Biden's most truthful quote ever came during his first press conference, 03/25/21. Drum roll please...... "I don't know, to be clear." and THAT is one promise he's kept!!!
