We was kids bout 10-11 yrs old. We had a kid that used to come around bout like your bud.
He was same age but that mofo was almost the size of Andre the giant,
He had epilepsy.
He wanted to hold my best bud’s sister’s parakeet. She weren’t home or I bet she would’ve said hell no.
Anyway, he got to hold it. Something happened and he got excited, had a some kind of fit or spasm. He locked up, eyes rolled backed in his head. That parakeet sounded like a ball of bubble wrap being twisted up. Hahaha

He’s lucky to have friends like you and your wife. We never know how profound an affect we have on someone else’s life because our role seems so minor. no still like a 5-6 yr old child. does have street smarts, like i said he walks all over town and corpus is a pretty spread out city, he will smoke a cigarette if he can get one,

A guy I worked with took in a boy of about 14 that was his son's friend. His parents were both dead and he lived with his older sister in an old mobile home. The older sister had her own things to do so the boy spent most of his time just hanging out.
He was a natural outdoorsman and spent time hunting and fishing to keep himself and his sister fed better than they would have been otherwise.
My friend has a fair sized piece of land and the few neighbors around him let the other neighbors hunt without giving it much thought.
The first year the boy stayed with him he hit the woods as soon as deer season came around. My friend came home from work and the boy told him that he had killed one and had it in the barn. My friend went to the barn with him expecting to spend the evening dressing a deer. But the boy had it skinned, gutted, and hanging already.
The boy stayed there until he graduated from high school then went on his way.
