If other folks don't look, think, believe just like me they must be degraded and defamed. This seems to be the new CF Mantra. Some folks need to learn that the horizon extends beyond their front porch. Some pretty competent outdoorsmen on this site that live in places as obscene as California and New York. They must be gay joos of the wrong color/ religion.

I have seen Amish people walking around with cell phones. How do they charge them if they do not believe in using electricity.

The teevee... I've lived around several Amish communities here in MI.
I've never had an issue with them personally. I have the Amish process my deer for me. The charge $45 and do a better job than any "english man I've ever paid. I normally do them myself these days but for $45 it's worth it to me. I can use the time saved to chase more deer or fish.
I do know people that have had problems with them trespassing. They definitely can fish out a lake. Some of them might be poachers..
But now let me tell you about the guys that aren't amish that go ice fishing and take home a limit in the morning and then a limit that evening, day after day..
There's scumbags in every race, religion, group, what have you..
Like I said.. it might be bullshit that they don't have to pay taxes but hate is unnecessary.

Now, now, settle down there Spanky before you blow an ass gasket.

When they bought my great grandparents farm they had blank plates over all the receptacles other than the barn. Somebody mentioned a drunk that would drive them around, yup! That was my cousin.

Make up your mind man, you can only be mad at one made up thing a day you old bitty....
Lotta Mennonites and Amish around me. Mennonites built my barn, did a damn fine job. Amish keep to themselves, but they do butcher lot of people deer for cheap. I dont use them but heard its hard to get in touch with them, for obvious reasons.
Lot mad people on this forum, cracks me up. There he is again. That stupid chkunt who contributes nothing. Never anything positive or informational. Never. EVER.

Going down for the night but this has been a fun forum. Really enjoyed it. I knew Nathan wouldn't back down. My wife thinks I can bring out the worst in people. She also accuses me of pushing people that are a half a bubble off completely off their rocker. But I do sincerely believe Amish types are not a huge problem. Now maybe we can get a Wayne LaPierre discussion going.

Although, I hear its good bologna. I have some PA Dutch friends from Lancaster County that turned me on to sweet bologna years ago. That, farmer's cheese and cornbread made with roasted cornmeal is some good schitt. They gave me the recipe for the sweet bologna. I haven't tried it yet. It's a pretty simple process. It's basically 30# of ground beef and sugar cure. Stuff it into cloth sausage sacks and let it cure with a day of cold smoking sometime before it's ready. I plan on mixing in some moose meat with it to see how it turns out. I just need to get a meat mixer first.

Seem to be a lot of whiners who are jealour of the Amish for some reason. "Whah, whah, they work harder than I do...and they're different. Horrors." And by the way, they do pay taxes and the law has recognized religious conscientious objectors since the draft was invented. So what's it to ya'?
A semi-hijack of my thread, no? What right does the state have to tell people they must have modern conveniences if they don't want them? Both my mother and father--though not Amish--grew up in houses without indoor plumbing. My father went to a 1-room school from grades 1 through 8 and didn't have eledctricity until he was in high school.
Don't blame me. I voted for Trump.

I'll think after much trouble, the Amish will prevail. Unless their lawyers cost too much... The amish have plenty of cash... When they come to the hospital they pay the total bill on their way out the door. Hey, if we're going to allow the amish to practice their religion I guess the muslims should be allowed the same freedom, right? The Amish aren't planning to kill us all. Not the same thing.
