For two days, the media was on fire with the news of Bolton's book. They didn't have a copy of the book, but they had what an "informer" had told them was in the book.
Morning Joe, CNN, NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, all the "reporters" breathlessly called it a bombshell. They said that this would flip enough Senators, that they would have to call for witnesses.
They were implying, and hoping, that finally, this would run Trump out of office.
And now,
"The party's over,
They've burst your pretty balloon...."
Once again.
Once upon a time these guys were fairly rational news gathering organizations. Now, they just compete to show which one hates Trump the most. Pathetic.
