Well,...I wasn't able to keep track of everything that the article was trying to say. But the one paragraph I posted sums it up fairly well.

Basically, the configuration of Asian males lungs have more of the stuff that the Corona virus likes.

Kind of like sickle cell and Africans.

The renin-angiotensin mechanism is part of the system that regulates blood pressure, the ACEI and ACE2 are part of the enzyme converting end. When they are out of whack you get high blood pressure.
this certainly would explain the pneumonia and fluid accumulations in the lungs.

Prescription ACE1 inhibitors, include drugs like linisopril

Rx ACE2 inhibitors are drugs losarten.

It will be interesting to see if folks taking ACE2 inhibitors for high blood pressure will be getting virus protection also.

Talked to the Biomed Major daughter about this before she walked out to work. She said yes that only means that it was easier for the virus to mutate from an animal only corona virus to a human infection corona. She said that even though Asian male phenotypes might have more ACE-2 expressed cells that this virus likes doesn't mean that it wont mutate further and run like wildfire through other phenotypes.

At that point I started drooling and the eyes glazed over.

She said it really means nothing this early on because the sample sizes are so small. But could help with developing a first gen vaccine.

At this point im falling half asleep.

She laughed and said yes Dad we are all pretty much at the same risk of catching the virus now that it has jumped the species gene barriers.
