Loretta reminds me of my mom, she’s a living link to a whole different era. I’m glad she’s still here.
"...if the gentlemen of Virginia shall send us a dozen of their sons, we would take great care in their education, instruct them in all we know, and make men of them." Canasatego 1744
Can't read her comment as I am not going through the links rigamarole to allow ads.
God Bless Her Heart, but Loretta Lynn stopped being relevant to country music shortly after "Coal Miner's Daughter" was released to theaters.
I'm not thrilled with a lot of today's country music, but there are still some decent songs and decent acts. Think Midland, Jon Pardi, Cody Johnson, Luke Combs etc.
Old fogeys need to remember that music constantly evolves. To think that the only country music was 1950s Hank Williams is a joke.
Hopefully the current downturn is short and the above named acts, and others, help lead the charge to "good" country music.
Second impression...............not what I expected..........
Third impression.............I'll listen to more.
Don't know if she's traditional Country music, but I love her voice.

I've seen Loretta 2 or 3 times. Once at Ft Leonard Wood, I was front row - I had never imagined she was that small! I believe it was twice I saw her at the NM State Fair - once, we went across town to a bar, and her sister, Chrystal Gail was singing there. I couldn't believe how long Her hair was - went down to her ankles! Soon after, Chrystal hit the big time.

I don't understand how C&W folks "celebrate" homosexuals "coming out" and white boys posing like "Ghetto Gangstas"... where is Cledus Judd when we need him"????
All music genres evolve. I happen to like some of the current crop - Eric Church, Chris Stapleton etc. Yes I know about EC’s comments regarding the NRA but you have to be able disagree with a person’s point of view and still appreciate what they bring to the table.
My grand pap, born 1918, bitched about the "country music" of the 60's and 70's. Mom, loved it. She got lost in the late 90's. I lasted until about 2005. It's a normal thing for music to evolve, and for older adults to bitch and moan about it. It's been happening for a long time.
Used to only listen to country. School buses played rock, friends listened to it, learned to like some myself. Never had a preset in a radio for any rock though. Around 2008, I just started to tune into our classic rock station. Only listen to country now if our talk or rock station is playing crap I don't like.
Wife has Sirius. It's about all she listens to. When I finally get a car made this century, I might get it. Maybe.
