My wife bought me a pair of Alpen Apex 10x42 binos a while back. I am looking for another pair of binos to use that have as good or better glass than the Alpens. What other binos are similar to the glass of these so I have some idea as to what they compare too? I will be using them for deer hunting and will use them on an elk hunt when we get the chance to go.

Alpen is out of business with no warranty service, so use, enjoy, and toss them if they crap out. The diopter ring on my 8x42 Alpen is stuck but otherwise works ok. Good truck glass. Heavy too. Burris and Vortex are comparable in my opinion.
