While processing some brass that was shot up Saturday i got to thinking about powder.
I have been using Leverevolution powder in my 6.5 Grendel and wondered about the 556.
Looked at burn rate and it sets 1 notch lower than CFE223 so i loaded the start load.
It shot to point of aim but all i had was my 7.5in.pistol.
So i loaded up some more with 1 grain less then 2. These were shot with a 55 grain bullet. All of the searching i did showed that it was used with 75 and heavier bullets and did well. The brass all measured the same at the head so i don't think it will blow up. Any one else ever had a thought?

Dare I say it?
Stick loves the stuff in .223, or maybe .223 AI, sometimes it's hard to translate.

Don't waste your time (or powder) with Lever and 55gr bullets. There's a reason the recomendations are for 75gr bullets. It's too slow and bulky for 55s.
Also, if I understood your post right - don't guess at powder charge weights based on other powders nearby in burn rate. That can be a dangerous practice. Safe enough in this case, since you can't get enough Lever in the case to cause dangerous pressure with 55s, but in some other combinations it could be bad news.
