As a bunch of you boys know I've been in the market for a rimfire. After listening to the various opinions I came up with this.

CZ 452 .17HMR/Bushnell Trophy 4-12x40AO

.75" at 100 yards (Hornady V-Max). First group I shot, the wind started picking up and groups developed even more lateral stringing. I really want to get out there on a calm day.

Thanks to everyone for the help.

Congrats on the rifle. The only weak point of the CZ IMO is the trigger. That can be fixed with a $16 Brooks kit, or for a fully adjustable option, Rifle Basix and Timney have an answer - with the former now said to be fully 'drop in'.

Thanks Tod,
The creep in the trigger is pretty bad. Sounds like an easy fix though.
I spotted that poor gopher when I was wrappin' up my target session. He picked the wrong time to have breakfast I guess.......grin

I forgot to add that the 17 grain V-Max sailed across the chrony(I was testing some .300WSM handloads also) at 2500ish fps.

Have the same gun and caliber. It is by far the most fun, useful rig I have gotten in a while. I use it for groundhogs where noise is an issue. Made kills at just over 110 yards so far. The round is a killer and much flatter than the 22 mag in my experience.

I have the CZ in 22 Magnum that will shoot as well..mine is the LUX. I also have the Varmint in 22LR. I think they all shoot. The 17 looks like fun but I haven't bitten yet.
