I have heard of the research and development department turning out a .35 Remington or two. I doubt this is one. I'm guessing rebore. Wonder how well it feeds. Would have been nice if he had close-up pictures of the caliber and barrel markings.

I saw the listing was already "closed". Stever, I assume you closed the deal before you posted it here?
OOPS, MY MISTAKE - STEVER WASN'T THE ONE WHO POSTED IT - HE WAS THE ONE WHO GOT IT!

Rebored. Savage didn't sell 99's in 35 Rem....or 32 Spec.
When it comes to choosing friends....I'm at an age where I'd rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.

I think Remington came out with the 25 rem. thru 35rem. series of cartridges in about 1906. Course, last time I tried to show off [Williams sight base...NOT] I turned out to be F.O.S. Anyway, it`s possible, I guess.

If Savage did make 99's in 35 rem,why would they make so few?I never heard of one.But anything is possible.Would like to see the letter when it comes back.

If it arrives and looks "right" I would sure letter it right away. That's one letter I would really sweat-out waiting for! I have a Remington M08 in .35 that was shipped in 1906, so yes, it is possible I suppose. I'm really doubtful though. For me, buying something that is super rare, but is also been sold "as is" is a big red flag.

I agree that if it looks as nice as the pics, it's an acceptable price for a custom 99. If it turns out to be a prototype or factory custom, you stole it...
Wouldn't be the first one ya nailed though, can't get them without trying. Congrats on grabbing it!
