My wife’s parents, both deceased now gave us a couple of old mantle clocks, 20 years ago. Used them for a long time but no longer do so.
They knew a man, also deceased, in Caldwell, Ks that rebuilt old clocks.
I like them, but can live without the noise.

I do, just don't like to.

They are way too fiddly, compared to other mechanical clocks.

If you like clocks, Wabi, you should check out the Bily clock museum in Spillville, Iowa. Amazing hand carved wooden clocks.

A second to that. Haven't been there for many years, but remember it as very impressive.

A couple of Austrian pre-1900 Gustav Becker clocks. Clean and oil every ten years or so. Keep 'em wound and running. They still keep perfect time.

The abstract artwork behind the pendulums is intriguing. smile

Nice clocks - thanks for sharing.

We have a cuckoo clock but I had to silence the “cuckoo” function. 😀
