Thanks very much, duck. They need everything they can get, especially since one of his parents is going to have to spend all that time half way across the country with him. Every little bit counts!

And to all those praying, I say thank you as well! I’m a true believer that prayer heals. Your thoughts, kind words, and prayers will go a long way with him.

Thank you, sir. Peyton’s listed GFM goal has been reached but in reality it’s going to take considerable more now that we know what he’s going to need to attempt a cure. Thanks to all that have donated. It’s means so much to all of us as friends and family. If you’d like to help the boy out just follow the link in the first post. As soon as I get any updates I’ll post them here. They’re trying to get results from his little brother’s bone marrow tests now to see if he’s a match. That would be the closest chance of a match and that’s still not likely. Peyton’s case is made even more rare due to him having the familial type of HLH (considerably worse), but his mother doesn’t carry the gene. It seems he’s the first line in his family tree. They’re also testing his little brother to see if he has the HLH gene. We’re all praying he doesn’t.

Just a quick update on Peyton:

He will be flying to Cincinnati on Sunday to met with one of the only 2 specialists in the US working on HLH. They may keep him or send him home based on the bone marrow results and treatment plan. If he stays he can be there for up to 90 days for the full scope of treatment. During this time they’ve had to rent a house on a month to month basis in Cincinnati. He will also be required to be quarantined and from what I’m told will have a list of 4 people he’s allowed to be in contact with. All of those people have certain precautions they have to go through to be around him. Hopefully this will get him back to normal and most importantly healthy.

Along with this, Peyton’s little brother Preston has been diagnosed with the same disease. It’s about the worst news his family could get. To add insult to injury Preston is also a 100% match for bone marrow for Peyton, but the marrow is unusable due to him having the disease as well. Please say a prayer for Peyton and Preston if you feel obliged. He needs all he can get.

Wow!.....what a nightmare for the family to know that if the doctors, with the good Lord’s help, are able to cure Peyton they’ll have to go through this same nightmare again with Preston. I will absolutely be keeping the boys and the family and friends of those boys in my prayers daily. God does answer prayers and I pray that it’s his will that those boys live a long and prosperous life surrounded by the love of family. Hopefully one day down the road those dedicated and loving parents will become dedicated and loving grandparents.

I’ll check out the GFM site when I get a chance and I’ll do what I can to help them through this most difficult time.

While the focus is <rightfully> on the boys getting better it’s also a time when great things can happen and it’s in these times where faith can be tested but with an open heart the Lord can reveal wonderful miracles, both big and “small”. It’s during these terrible tribulations that the love of strangers and acquaintances can be revealed and act as a great source of comfort. I hope that they can find the rainbow in this awful storm that they’re all having to weather and that through this they grow closer as a family and that their faith in God is strengthened. You’re a good friend to be working behind the scenes to help them out during their time of trouble.

I got an error message saying “donations paused”. What’s up with this? Anyone else seeing this?

I hadn’t heard of any issues. I’ll look into it and ask Jina if something is going on.
