Montana Gold doesn't work up data to publish but seem to be a good product. Based on my usage of .40 S&W 165 gr HP and .357 158 gr HP the jacket seems to be fairly brittle brass combined with what seems to be a hard lead alloy. That is, the jacket self destructs, except for the base, and the lead core makes a nice even petaled mushroom. My loads for the .357 seem to be good with the same powders and weights of other jacketed bullets like Hornady when using 10 gr Blue Dot. I need to look back at what exact weight I used for the .40 but the powder is Power Pistol and pretty much matches max charge weight with the Speer Gold Dot. When fired thru water jugs each cartridge yielded plenty of brass jacket shrapnel along with a picture perfect expanded lead core. Just curious if anyone else is experimenting with these bullets.
