Did the early M 70 XTR featherweights, 1980/88 have a satin or gloss finish on the stocks? Was various types of finish available? Thank you for any info Labsandelk

This one was made in 1980: Satin finish: According to Rule, the XTR finish was changed to a polyurethane vs the vinyl finish they were using. According to Rule, when Winchester changed their buffing operations, they found that polyurethane worked better. That change was made in 1979 and was applied to all XTR finishes....
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Not to derail the thread, but are those Leupold DD "super low" rings?
"An archer sees how far he can be from a target and still hit it, a bowhunter sees how close he can get before he shoots." It is certainly easy to use that same line of thinking with firearms. -- Unknown

Then STFU. The rest of your statement is superflous bullshit with no real bearing on this discussion other than to massage your own ego. Suckin' on my titties like you wanted me.
