Just had to have it. Took a good look at it and did some reading up on it and played with them some at DSC. I had an original that regrettably I sold years ago.. 444..

If we live long enough, we all have regrets. But the ones that nag at us the most are the ones in which we know we had a choice.

Congrats Jorge, if you want to do away with that hammer block safety, one call and 10 bucks to Clyde Ludwig will put a fake screw in your hands that's easier to install than falling off a log, I've done it to all my Marlins, they look really nice, also had one buddy go ka-thunk on a giant whitetail buck because he forgot to slide the hammer safety off, the buck left, I set his rifle up like mine the next week.

That sure is some pretty wood. Sweet. Marlin Cross-Bolt Safety Replacement Kit - Leverguns.comAt the bottom of said article: This kit completely does away with the cross-bolt safety.
Kits are available from:
Clyde Ludwig PO Box 26156 Wauwatosa, WI 53226-0156

I've used Ludwig's plug.
Easy to install, Looks good when done and that damned safety is fortunately gone.

Great looking rifle.
My little brother just picked one up last year. Shoots and functions better than my later JM 444. I’d bet you’ll love it.
