HIALEAH, Fla. - A former assistant state attorney with the 20th Judicial Circuit was arrested for having a sexual relationship with a woman as an offer to make her pending criminal charges go away.

Miami Dade police officers arrested Juan Mercado, 29, for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement that had an acting arrest warrant for him. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigated the case.

The 20th Judicial Circuit cover Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry, and Lee Counties.


The woman was being prosecuted for domestic battery, and Mercado offered to "make her case go away" in exchange for sex, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.


Mercado was not the assigned prosecutor on the case but did access records and provided information and advice to the woman, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said.

Mercado was arrested for bribery, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Mercado was taken to the Miami-Dade Jail, and the Office of the State Attorney, 12th Judicial Circuit, will prosecute the case.

The dirt bag was being lenient with women for sex.
Mostly drug cases, he cut deals for them or let them
"Work off" the charges of others. He also tipped drug
raids, and outed informers.

Google it. It's a settled case.

And you won't believe the punishment for a law enforcement
individual involved in drug trafficking, and one who risk informants
lives.

That seems like a fair trade!

Late one night in the little California town where I was living, one of the town's patrol cars went "radio silent" for an extended period of time. After a panicky search of the area involving cars from several surrounding towns and the Highway Patrol, the missing car was found- - - - -parked behind a local business, with the cop and a young lady locked in the caged-off back seat. Neither one was fully dressed. When the details finally came out, it seems a DUI stop at around bar closing time was being handled with some "non-judicial punishment" and somebody snuck up and slammed the door on them! The cop resigned and moved out of town!
