Our house is right near the mouth of one of those canyons, and it is not uncommon to have hurricane-force canyon winds. The worst in memory hit 90 mph and lasted for three days - at near zero temps. Lots of roof damage, trees felled, yard furniture simply vanished, trampolines found from who knows where... And our next door neighbor state is Windoming. Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.
