A shack, a dream, near by, far away. Its cabin fever season.

My boys and I took an old derelict garage, put a new roof on it, added a lean-to, upgraded to 100 amp, insulated, paneled with osb, added two steel entry doors and four windows, siding and a furnace/ac over the past 15 years on my little 45 acre patch of timber. Great getaway and deer camp. Probably under 7k in the cabin total. It can be done.

I just got this place. Close on 28 Feb. Comes with 88 acres. Trails throughout. Cedar and hardwoods mix. 600 acres of public land to my west with a stream. 40 mins from house. Excellent hunting. Deer, turkey, wolf and moose frequent the area.

I've thought an old school bus on blocks, a stovepipe through the roof, converted to a lakeside cabin would be cool.

What happened to the Cabin forum? There’s at least a half dozen worthless forums that could be dumped...

Trying to buy 30 acres adjacent to my property to build a retirement home on. Keep this one as a weekly rental/guest house for the kids/parents to visit. Looking at some options now to make moving back there a reality earlier than I'd hoped/planned. An hour commute each way/day would be the penalty which more and more seems like a small trade-off.
