This is the only Vortex I own.Everyone's eyes are different, but the glass compares to 4200/4500,and Grand Slams to me.Clicks are responsive, and tracking is true. The only negative I've found with it would be the reticle. In dark woods you lose the reticle way before the glass, but for food plots and open areas,it will take you to pitch-black dark...

I have two Vortex Viper PST ffp scopes, a 4-16 and a 6-24. If you remember a ways back, everyone was so excited about Vortex scopes, even if they aren’t so excited today. Over time I got the two scopes. Never was too thrilled with the 6-24, but liked and still like the 4-16 and keep it on my general purpose 223 varmint blaster.
The glass can’t touch the glass in my Leupold VX5 HD 3-15, and the illuminated reticle is pretty useless compared to the fire dot in the Leupold. But I still use it and like it.

Quit giving in inch by inch then looking back to lament the mile behind ya and wonder how to preserve those few feet left in front of ya. They'll never stop until they're stopped. That's a fact.

I had 3 Vipers a few years ago, none of which stayed more than 1 week. I had a Nikon Prostaff that I thought had better glass. IMO They're no where close to a Bushy 4200 or Weaver Grand Slam in glass quality.
Razor's are a different story.

And I'll reiterate my statement that everyone's eyes are different. To me,your Prostaff should come from Walmart in a blister pack...

I have a Vortex Viper XBR crossbow scope (best one I’ve found), a Vortex Razor 2.5-8 on my Ruger .243, and 2 Vortex Venom reflex red dots - one’s on my 20ga auto turkey gun.
Good scopes, I like them. I also have a coulee Zeiss scopes as well.

I have the Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40. It's one of my brighter, Clearer Scopes but the eye relief sucks. I put it on a low recoiling 7x57 98 Mauser which is a bit heafty. If that rifle was a hard kicker I'd put it somewhere else. It holds zero fine and like I said, it's bright and clear on a scale with some of my Leupolds but it has less than 2" Eye Relief on the highest settng of 12x.

Have had the 3 X 9 X 40 Vortex Viper BDC for a while replaced a Leupold 2.5 X 8 BDC that wandered, eventually wandered off to the factory and then to a new owner. The Viper has been faithful and not had the wanderlust of reticle like the Leupold did.
