I like old rifles too.
Got several of them.
We can all have a new Henry for the price of an old Winchester.

I have a nice Model 62 Winchester.
Mother of pearl, I have a lot of rounds though that rifle.
I dont shoot it any more because I had it in a leather scabbard strapped to the back rack on my three wheeler.
Went over a killer jump and bent the inner tube.
Never did fix it.
I shouldn't have nice things.
I am MAGA.

I've thought about buying a Henry 22 with the octagon barrel, as I think they're pretty cool. Problem is, I've got more 22's than I can count anyway, and really don't need another.

Oh, I just remembered that I bought a 22 mag pump. Sweet little rifle, however it had no consistent accuracy. It scattered them. But it was fun. I would love to try the 22LR pump.

I have the H1001. My only complaint is the sights. I eventually put a 4x Simmons rimfire scope on it. It is an honest 1/2 inch group at 50 yards with CCI mini mag solid ammo. Functions smoothly with all ammo except stingers. The trigger is very good. I would certainly recommend the rifle to anyone.

Another H1001 owner here. It's just the base model but I love it. Got it on sale in Oct. of 2018. Sights could be better but mine currently has an old red dot on it on a pic rail that may get a rimfire scope in the future, either that or some type of aperture sight. Got the Henry single shot rifle in .308 just over a year ago and the accuracy wasn't what I expected but it's getting better with handloads.

A side gate 22mag would be really cool.

I've had two, sold or traded them both. They seem heavy and clunky to me.

I have this one. Have it loaded with Winchester Match CB caps and scoped. Set to 25 yards, dead squirrels at my feeder

The side port loader is a great addition. I wish they would seal the mag tube on those models.
Guys, anyone considering different sights, seriously consider the Skinner aperture sight for the Henry.
It comes in a couple or three styles as per blend of blued steel and brass. It is designed to look great on the Henry. And several aperture sizes are available to fit various eyes or shooting conditions. Or the aperture comes out, and the housing serves as a ghost ring.
I really should get a Henry in 41 mag to go with the Marlin 1894 in 41. But it has not made it to the top of the priority list yet.

Bought the son one in 17 a couple years ago for his B-day. He won't shoot it! Put it back in the box and said maybe someday. Safe queen for now.

The side loading gate is a step forward. Now, does one of their 30-30s still weigh 27 pounds?
