If this was recently discussed in a thread here, feel free to paste a link,

Anyhow, Title says it all, which one you grabbing and why?

Same gun, just different cartridge, Your choice.

Hunting and Range, more range than hunting, and limited to 300 yard range distance.

7.5 lb sporter rifle, 22 inch barrel.

Beat that horse...............

To me, that screams "I want to buy 500 rounds of excellent shooting ammo".

So to me, that answers the question.

Six point five.

I’m going with the 6.5x47. If not that then I probably would have gone with 260. No compelling reason other than I want to give the 6.5x47 a try.

Seems to me the 6.5 CM would be cheaper to enjoy.

I'll reload 500 rounds of hopefully, 'excellent shooting ammo'.......

Same thing but different?

These days much more target than hunting.

As a new 6.5 CM owner, I really like How Cheap and available the ammo is. And it just shoots great. It’s keeping my 270 in the safe more than ever

I reload but when I can find a box of 140 fmj S&B that can shoot sub moa for 10.99. Hard not to like it.
Also from what I’ve see on forums, they 260 isn’t always have the fast twist. I could be wrong, just what I’ve seen posted l.

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

The only reason to own a 260 over a 6.5 CM is if you already own one.

Exactly. If you own and like your .260, you can keep your .260. If not, see quote above.

Can't think of a single reason to start fresh with a .260 at this point.

The similar .243/6mm Creed question has more to chew on as there are still some real advantages to the old one as regards rifle and ammunition choices and availability, but the 6.5 case, again for someone just getting started, is closed.

Swedes are exempted for a couple of reasons.

Got rid of a 260 Hart barrel and replaced it with a Hawk Hill 6.5 Creedmoor. My daughter does not reload and can now buy all the factory ammo she pleases. Really a pretty easy choice and the market of course has voted hugely.

That said I like my 6.5 Lapuas a lot lol.

My 700 Ti is a 260 and I have NO desire to rebarrel. I bought 100 Hornady Superformance in 129 gr. Shoots way better than minute of deer and that's what it must do right now for me. When I leave this world one of the grands can rebarrel or not. Be Well, Rusty.

I have had my first 260, heavy barrel since they came out back in 1998. VLS Remington...and still have it, plus a spare take off barrel...have a pair of sporter weight Ruger Stainless also...

I hand load.. can neck down 308 brass in one pass.... which is mostly what gets ran thru those rifles..

I picked up a Thompson Center Compass for $200 new just before Christmas in 6.5 CreedSamoor...

Gonna see first hand what is so magically great about what it can do that the 260 Rem Can't...

haven't even shot it, and its already earmarked when I'm done with it to a disable military buddy

I also shoot the Swede and the rare 6.5 x 57, which I set up just like the way the Creed was set up...but in a long action..

may do a switch barrel between a 22.250 and 6 Creed just to see what the big deal is there also..

Need reasons.

260 has slightly better velocity and less pressure in almost all loadings. Ability to neck down 7mm-08 & 308 brass.

260 doesn't require a manbun
