And glaucoma and for optic nerve disease and corneal disease and conjunctiva disease and for eyelid disease and for iris disease and for retinal disease and antibiotics and antivirals and for antifungals and steroids and nonsteroidal anti inflammatories and orals and topicals and blood tests for exotic genetic and communicacable disease and xrays and ct scans and MRI's and ..... Sheesh, King, and I always thought you were on top of things.

Physician implies medical school (allopathic or osteopathic). Optometrists don’t go to medical school. Ophthalmologists go to medical school.

I sign plenty of state physician forms for many patients.
I am a medical specialist who doesn't do surgery, as many ophthalmologists do who dont do surgery.

I sign plenty of state physician forms for many patients.
I am a medical specialist who doesn't do surgery, as many ophthalmologists do who dont do surgery.

My job at one of the country's largest privately owned eye surgery centers was to treat ocular disease to free up the corneal, cataract, pediatric and retinal surgeons to do ....surgery.

I got a degree in optometry and also education which made me an optometric physician to specialize in ocular disease.
Do Drs of Osteopathy who specialize in surgery go to medical school? No.

Yeah, neither do surgical osteopaths, veterinarians, dentists or oral surgeons. Ha, even the ER docs from Crane, Big Springs, Kermit, Monahans, etc who called me re ocular emergencies thought i was a real doc, including Doc Rocket.  I treat the families of many docs such as allergists, pulmonolisists, internists, cardiologists, neurologists who dont do surgery, and the docs themselves. But, stay in the dark ages if you insist.

D.O.s absolutely go to medical school. D.O.s and M.D.s are both ABMS (American Board of Medical Specialties) board eligible. Their training is interchangeable in the eyes of the ABMS.
