I have a nearly mint vintage Marble’s #161 Auxiliary Cartridge Adapter for sale. This is a cartridge adapter that allows you to shoot .22 long or long rifle ammo in a Savage 99 or 1899 chambered in 22 Savage Hi Power. Allows for cheap plinking or small game hunting with your old 99. Probably dates to the 1940s. Includes original packaging. These are very hard to find, and this one appears to be unused or very close to it.

$95 shipped in the US only. Payment by Paypal or US Postal MO.

Thanks John. They really are a nice little accessory for a .22 Hi Power.

Same here, but I just got mine recently, these are a unique accessory, and like the guns they work in, not made anymore.

1) The little plunger slides out the rear of the adapter.
2) Insert a .22 shell into the little window in the side of the adapter and carefully slide the plunger back into the body of the adapter. 3) Load the adapter into the rifle’s chamber and fire the round.
4) Pick up the dead squirrel and get it ready for the stewpot.
5) Carefully rack the lever to eject the adapter into your hand.
6) You may need to use a small dowel rod to push the spent shell out through the rear of the adapter.
7) Repeat

I have used the one I bought from Rod many years ago to great effect on empty beer cans. I didn't realize that squirrels were in the offing too! Fun little devices.
