It's 2020, there are a lot of very good defensive handgun options that are as reliable as Glock. Most are probably more ergonomic, just as reliable, accurate and durable. My Gen3 G19 doesn't get carried or shot much since the M&P 2.0 Compact hit the scene. It's a significantly heavier gun than the Glock 19. How much is "significantly"? Do you know? Could you know?

TRH, I bought my Gen 5 19 a little less than 2 years ago. It's the one with factory installed Ameriglo sights and no front slide serrations. It's a blue label Glock that I paid about $450 for. I've owned and carried Glocks since 1987. I have total faith in them!
Ron Yep, they are one of the very few guns that you can load up fresh out of the box, stick it in your holster, and be fully confident it will work if needed. What a stupid statement...

Try actually using the right slide release on the M&P 2.0 and get back to us.
Then use the right slide release on the Gen 5 Glock 19 and get back to us.
Which one works and which doesn't?

Which one works and which doesn't? The right side release was tough and little disappointing, but I'm conditioned to use the left side release with my pointer finger (or sling shot) so I forgot about it. After firing the pistol for a while I noticed that at some point the release had broken in.

What a stupid question. He's not here to ask relevent questions or add value to any discussions. I think I've had this dude on ignore since before I got my first gray hair.

My Gen3 G19 doesn't get carried or shot much since the M&P 2.0 Compact hit the scene. Choice-Supportive Bias or Post-Purchase Rationalization is the tendency to retroactively ascribe positive attributes to an option one has selected to purchase. Experience...

What a stupid question. Only because you're not able to answer. You got caught talking out your azz again.

Odd thing is that it shoots low with the factory installed Ameriglo night sights. That one round, all by itself under the bullseye, was actually aimed dead center of the bullseye. It was my first shot today. Thereafter, I changed my point of aim to the top of the bullseye to get that centered 15 yard group.

Mine does the same thing. My low shot displacement was just about half of what you're showing but considering your target is at 15 yards and I was shooting at 7 that seems pretty consistent.
Thought it was in this thread but somewhere someone mentioned that the Gen 5 sights shoot low, but replacing the rear with one from a Gen 4 makes them shoot to POA again. Might have to look into that some more.
Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery. Hit the target, all else is twaddle!

Do you understand combat sights? Not speaking for him but it’s surprising how many use dot sights and don’t

All my Gen2 pistols (17, 21, 22) with Trijicon sights hit to sight picture 2. Gen4 model 19 with factory night sights hits to sight picture 2. Gen5 model 19 with factory night sights hits to sight picture 3.

Image #3 is the one you want for night sights - you probably won't be able to see the top edge of the sight.
