I had not forgotten this old Springfield 1911A1 but it does not see light of day often. It's been fully enhanced, and is one heck of a shooter.

I like it, especially the rail. I don't have any 1911 type railguns presently.

I used to use those MMC fixed sights, I thought then, (and still do) think they're just about the best fixed sight available at that time. Low, unobtrusive, and a wonderful sight picture. I like them much better than the ubiquitous Novaks everyone uses nowadays. I'm not a fan of rails, but that's just me, I suppose.

Looks like you have some rust growing around the edge of the grip panel, and screws....

So is the Old Curmudgeon that owns it! LOL
I used to have a SA Fully Loaded model......back when they were having serious rust problems with their bluing. Finally sent it back to them and they re finished it with their Armor Kote under Warranty. Ended up selling it to buy a Les Baer.......
