Typical gunsmith charge for removal of existing barrel, purchase of new sporter, stainless or blue, and installation thereof ? The rifle is aTikka, and I’m looking for a good barrel.

Thanks,

Bob

That’s a pretty good number.

That's about what Bartlein cost me. Trued the front of the receiver and bolt face, and chambered and installed the barrel. All done in house

Be certain (I mean know for sure!) you have a good
Smith and that THEY are going to do it.

There are a bunch of hacks around here who can sort of
bed an action, or do a recoil pad.

They just love barrel or brake work.
They box it, ship it, then charge you for doing that.

You are better off just getting a good barrel maker to
install the barrel.

That said, the above guy from Wisconsin has a very good reputation,
And you have a ball park number already. PM him.
