I just got a 303. Serial number is 351xxx. 20 inch barrel. Numbers on butt plate and stock are the same. Has a compass in stock. The forend and stock are checkered. Not drilled and tapped. Seems nice light handy rifle that I plan on using this fall. I will be ordering Lightfoot's mount. I posted pics in the image gallery under name Savage 303. Any info would be nice. Thanks.

Don't see those in 303 every day. Fairly uncommon. And pretty desirable by collectors. Don't put any more holes in it. I will kill it's value.

Thanks for the info. Except for the compass the stocks are in really good shape without any cracks and the checkering is much better than my other 99s. Can't wait to use it this fall. Thanks again for the info.
