It aint wolves, yet. Pressure that impedes breeding, competition with sheep, cattle, even horses, surprise weather that impacts calving,
CPW manages money. More hunters decreases success and may impact natural breeding. I had some guy tell me there were bulls all over because if all the bugleing but all he saw was orange. Go figure that one out.
I have never believed their counts, Lot more humans bugleing than elk now days. If CPW gave accurate counts of elk herds, no one would come to Colorado to hunt

Plus they sell cow tags like lottery tickets at Loaf n Jug.

I have never believed their counts, Seems like any more, it's all about maximizing revenue, not having a quality hunt.

A friend of mine hunted the third season at a ranch. Five of them hunted and none saw an elk. If I recall the story only one elk was killed on that ranch last year.

remember this Colorado game and fish department like or prefer less elk same pay less work and no rancher`s bitching . they want our money but don`t give a crap how we do hunting .
