X-Bolt - With the tang safety being further down the stock handle than a Savage, I am wondering if inadvertently pushing to the fire position while handling the gun happens occasionally?
Howa 1500 - I've read that the safety is easily bumped to fire when shoulder carrying. Howa owners, is this a concern or not?
Tikka T3x - While shoulder carrying, anyone have an instance where the safety has unintentionally moved to fire?
Please no speech on carrying with an empty chamber. If that works for you, great.
Thanks in advance for the info!

I've never had the issues you asked about with X-Bolts or Tikkas.

I've never had any problems with the safeties on the X-bolt, Vanguard (don't know if it is the same as the Howa), or the Tikka T3x.

Never had that happen with the safety on my tikka. Had a mossberg 4x4 where the safety didn’t lock the bolt, and I found the bolt on a brink of being open more than once. Down the road she went
All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

I own 2 x-bolts and 3 Tikka’s and never had an accidental safety moved to fire on any of them. Never owned a Howa.

Yes, safety unintentionally moved to fire while hunting the Oregon coastrange. T3 Superlite, but not a T3x. I don't know if the design of the safety mechanism has changed though. Jason

Never owned a M70, so my comments don't apply there.
Tikka is one of very few companies anymore that lock the bolt handle with the safety. One of those things i hated, untill I bought a Remington that didn't. Have two now.
I frequently find the bolt lifted. Have had it open enough that when trying a quick shot, all I got was the bolt slamming shut.
One more reason why Tikka has become my primary interest for new acquisitions.
No. Never had the safe come off accidently.

Second the benefit of Tikka locking the bolt closed. Several time had my Rem 35 Whelen with the bolt flapping.

Huh ? In addition to Tikka and just off the top of my head the Browning X-Bolt, Weatherby Vanguard, Howa 1500, Ruger 77, Savage 110, T/C Compass and Winchester M70 all lock the bolt down when the safety is on.

Obey lawful commands. Video interactions. Hold bad cops accountable. Problem solved.

To accomadate those looking to criticize. If you read, I mentioned the M70 as one I have no experience with. Many of the ones you mention are 3-position safeties. I was speaking of 2 position safety guns guess I needed to spell that out. Pharmseller, Unless I've missed something, my Tikka's need to be taken off safe to open the bolt.
