The first week of January I bought a used Ruger American Predator chambered in .223 Rem from my local Scheels. I wasn't really looking for one but it was in pristine condition (as in it looked brand new) and priced very reasonably. According to the serial number it was a 2014 model. When I got it home I ran some rounds through it to check function as I remember some early 223 magazines had some issues. It fed perfect but would not extract.
I called Ruger service and they sent me an extractor, detent ball, and spring. I installed said parts but it still would not extract. I called Ruger again and they sent me a call tag to send it in for repair. It arrived at Ruger on the 14th of January. On the 12th of February they sent me an email to let me know they wanted to replace the entire rifle with a new one. I agreed and they shipped it to my local Scheels for me to pick up.
So now I have a brand new Ruger American Predator chambered in .223 Rem that shoots fantastic.
Thanks to Ruger for standing behind their products and a shout out to Scheels for the transfer.

Nice to see a company standing behind their product, especially not being the original owner. I have a Ruger revolver that got ran over... I wonder if it’s worth sending it in.

I'm sure they will take care of it, but it may cost you...

That's the kind of service that creates customer loyalty. All of the rifles in my safe are Rugers.
Remington, take note.
