I am considering converting a pre 64 FWT to 9.3x62. I like 24" barrels, They seem to balance best for me, but am looking at doing a 22" barrel on this one. I would like the rifle to be no more than 9 lbs. all up with scope and mounts. I am looking at a Leupold 2.5-8 that weights 11.4 oz. or no more than 16 oz. for something else. Wood stock currently. What size barrel would be good for this build in this caliber?

You can figure the current barrel is within an ounce or two of 2 lbs. Lots of barrel companies have online weight calculators, just plus in the contour dimensions you were thinking of and go from there.
