Does anyone have the weights of the aluminum Picatinny style bases. Would be for a M70 long action.
Also, how does the weight of the one piece aluminum base compare to the two piece steel Warne/weaver style bases?
If you died tomorrow, what would you have done today ...

Up for the poster.
I don't know weights....but would be interested in base heights as well if someone's collecting info. I like the Burris XT two piece bases for the height but they are steel rather than aluminum.

If folks don’t have for the M70, also interested to know for the 700. And I would be curious in rail height as well. Seems like something manufacturers would list, but they don’t.
Goal, for me, is to find as lightweight (and low) a Picatinny style setup as possible. I like the ability to swap scopes, but for a hunting rifle I don’t want extra weight. A rail has the advantage of then I can move between different brands of rifles. Open to a two piece if there is weight savings.
Will be pairing these with the Warne Mountain Tech rings as they seem to be fairly light (2.9 oz). If someone has knowledge of lighter, let me know.

By chance you might get lucky that the spacing on different two-piece bases is the same, but I wouldn't count on it. The only rail I've weighed was an aluminum Talley for a SA Fieldcraft and it was 2 oz. Steel Burris XTB two-piece for a 700 are also 2 oz.

EGW makes great rails for not much money. Why are you worried about that small amount of weight?
You did not "seen" anything, you "saw" it. A "creek" has water in it, a "crick" is what you get in your neck. Liberals with guns are nothing but hypocrites.
