Depends on who it is....

There are some trolls on the campfire, who I'd gladly donate 60% of their liver to save somebody's life....

I'd risk my life to save someone else, which I have done several times in my lifetime..

but to give my life to save someone else... no..

I don't think that way because of myself... I think that way, because of my wife, my son.. and up until this time, for my parents.. but mom has passed and step dad is 90 and in an Assisted Living facility.. soon to have to go into memory care.

I would like to think I would but I think it's one of those thing where you can't say for sure 'til it happens. There's risk of death with ANY surgery, including your dentist. Livers are interesting, they can regenerate. Lizards have their tails, people have their livers.
