Just curious about what kinds of yearly round counts other members on here rack up?

My averages are:

Around 2k in my centerfire revolvers ranging from 32H&R Mag up through 480 Ruger

6-8k in my centerfire semi pistols, mostly 9mm but also have 380, 357 Sig, 45, and 10mm

Under 1k in rimfire handguns, was mostly in revolvers but will go up now that I have semi's in a Taurus Tx22 and Glock 44.

As far as long guns its around 8-10k out of my 223/556 and 300Blk AR Platforms

Around 5k out out of my rimfire rifles in various platforms like 10/22 and ar22.

Around 200-300out of my centerfire rifles

This place would probably benefit from a round count rather than post count under the avatars.

The round count wouldn’t be as accurate as the post count.

I couldn't even begin to count them -

I'm not very good at 'fractions'.

I would estimate, conservatively, about 5,000.

I'll probably be around 8,000 centerfire pistol (mostly 9mm and .45 ACP). I will probably shoot another 500-750 .22lr (all through handguns). Centerfire rifle rounds vary but will be under 250 for me this year.

Here's a pic from this morning. I was checking the zero on some rounds I loaded a couple years ago for bowling pin shooting and then never used.

I don’t keep a count, but a good guess would be maybe 700/800 handgun rounds per year, and probably 300/400 centerfire rifle rounds. Just enough to enjoy and keep my mind right.

I’ve tried to keep an accurate range journal this year by date and individual firearm.

I’m at 2,985 so far this year. That’s total live rounds fired.

not nearly as much as I used to, or as I should. I am guessing less than 200 rounds so far in 2020

Nowhere near as much as when I was actively competing, which was around 1500 a month.

Now per year, it's around 3500 - 4000 CF pistol, split about 60/40 between 9mm & 45 ACP, around 1500 RF pistol & around 3500 CF rifle, mostly 5.56 AR's & 223 in bolt guns.

Ammo is relatively cheap right now & I also load a lot, especially in the winter.

Not as much range time as I'd like, but it's enough to maintain a minimum skill level for my needs & it's really about all I have time for right now.

I go through a brick (1,000) of primers in 9mm every month, sometimes 1.5-2 in the summer, so that's a pretty solid 12,000 rounds per year. I'd guess another 4,000 per year in other cartridges.
I shoot in my back yard, so it's easy to put in a lot of range time.

Empty primer boxes and cartons are my best way of keeping track of round count. Mostly I don't buy loaded ammo.

Clearly, you reload for your shooting, and likely have a progressive press. How much money do you actually save reloading for your defensive handgun (9mm?) vs buying, let's say aluminum cased range ammo in bulk?

Depends how you add it up - if my time counts as $$ (for me it doesn't, it's a hobby I enjoy doing in my spare time). I recover/reuse my brass and my lead, so my only $$ costs are powder and primers for 9mm, IIRC it works out to about 4.5 cents per round. My time investment is about 2.5 hours to load 1,000 rounds, and about 2 hours to cast/coat/size those 1,000 bullets (efficiency in loading is important to get it done that quick).

But it's about a lot more than saving money - it's about using a bullet and load that is ideal for my gun and shooting conditions. Most of the bullets I use are modified or completely custom molds I made, and are not something you could buy in factory ammo.

Mostly the same goes for my rifle shooting, except I buy jacketed bullets for most of that, but it's still a custom load tailored to each rifle. That saves money too, but it's really about the custom loads.

when I can (and I cannot right now) I fire pistols two-three times a month. I shoot 500-600 rounds of 9mm per month. Some 40-50 or so rounds of 45ACP and some 100 or so rounds of 22 LR and 50-100 rounds of 10mm in 5 pistols I shoot most always.... I fire my rifles less now as we lost a lease, however I fire an AR15 type rifle 100 rounds per month at my new club. I kind of don't shoot the 380's that much or the LW 38.
