My son began targeting giant Striped Bass this year . We have been salmon and steelhead nuts for years, but usually quit fishing between seasons. This year he got a new boat and geared up to chase these giants. Many people look at his photos and successes and immediately want to participate. What they can't see in the photos are the long hours he puts in, the extremely high cost of specific big fish tackle and how often he goes. This kid has become a force to be reckoned with whether on the water or in the woods. Couldn't be prouder...

Those are giants, indeed. Congrats to your son and to you for raising him to be determined and focused.

Impressive Do you have a right to be proud

Big stripers! You’re right on about the cost and time investment needed to fish for them. Fun ain’t always cheap.

Salmonella; most folks upon seeing amazing results from others have no idea of the work, time and money that has gone into that success. Anything which looks easy usually has an immense amount of effort in the background.
Very cool pictures, thanks for sharing them with us. Those are huge fish!

A guy better tie great knots and have perfect line or a big striper’s gonna make off with $250 of lure He uses 85# Power Pro braided line and has a pretty ingenious lure retrieval method. We have snagged up plenty of times but have recovered all of them but one. One of those biggest fish actually had one of those giant glide baits snagged on his gill plate. SCORE!!!!

Congrats to your son!
40 years ago, we use to fish for giant strippers at night, below a dam. I've caught 20 pounders and had my small rig stripped of line a few times. I've seen fellows with 60 lb line snapped.
